Principal’s Message

At George Washington Carver Elementary Academy, our mission is to develop in every student critical thinking skills and great character traits that will afford them every opportunity to be prepared for college or beyond by building relationships, holding high expectations, and learning within a caring and collaborative environment.

Students at Carver have a unique opportunity for specialized classes such as Piano, Vocal Music, Drama, Environmental Science, and Art. We are the only magnet school in Amarillo Independent School District. Students come from all over Amarillo to be a part of the Carver family. 5th grade students go to Galveston each year to meet up with a marine biologist, visit NASA, and explore the Moody Garden's Aquarium. Carver Academy became a No Excuses University in 2017. The growth that happens in the classrooms of Carver prepares our scholars for success in the next steps of their education and, ultimately, for success beyond high school.

Our students experience foundational academics blended with a dynamic curriculum and enrichment opportunities that develop them as 21st century thinkers, communicators, collaborators and contributors. The Carver family values this opportunity and the time spent with every student who walks our halls.
